Jenny has flown off to England for 3 weeks and left me in charge of 2 (nearly adult) children, a cat, a bird, and Mulubinba Moments. I've been intending to publish my Portugal photos for ages. My photo album is on the sidebar and there is only one (or perhaps two) dogs featured.
Wow! That was incredible. You were so lucky to get to go there. From your pictures, Portugal seems to be very similar to Lima, Peru. It's a place that once had incredible wealth and then lost it, so it's full of very grandiose ancient buildings that aren't always properly preserved.
I wasn't aware that the main dish at the last supper was roasted puppy. Communion will never be the same again.

Geoff: great photos, thanks for posting them. And also for the pic of Jenny. Hope you're bearing up!

Tvindy is right about the history of Portugal. Incredible wealth and power in the past, but now lost forever. It is captured in the national musical style of Fado which is beautifully sad and evocative of great loss. Pica, we're coping fine here, but don't tell Jenny I posted a photo of her or I will be history too.

Geoff, enjoy your solo sojourn (I know you will miss Jenny a lot) and please wish her a wonderful trip from me. I look forward to hearing about both of your adventures.
