Two posts in a week!
I am currently experiencing 'writing envy' .... there are so many people who write fantastically and eloquently on their blogs. I have just been immersed in reading the latest posts over at "Me + Richard Armitage" - Servitus will often link to previous writing, and so I often find myself absorbed in what she and others write now, and have written in the past. I recall a series of posts written on "Me + Richard Armitage" a few years ago about "Richard Armitage as Tulpa" - certainly, I had ascribed characteristics to Richard Armitage that had no resemblance to who I see today. This was a slippery slope for me, as, when he behaved differently to the image I had conjured for myself, I felt rather let down. Nowadays my Richard Armitage tulpa has blurred to someone I don't recognise.
Today there has been a lot of discussion on the blog (and perhaps elsewhere) about a series of tweets Richard wrote over on Twitter. Some were political and related to Theresa May and Brexit (or the related challenges to implementing Brexit) - then apparently he changed course to throw out a hint about a new project stating that he wasn't good enough for the roles that were being speculated about by his fans on twitter. I used to like his humility (my Richard Armitage "tulpa" was a humble, polite, thoughtful type). I now find this humility less believable, and I sense I may be on the same page as others. (I don't label myself as a fellow blogger these days as I really am not that active - false humility ..lol).
Some of the political comments Richard made today have been deleted, but even without those, I counted four (?) tweets in the space of a few hours. It appears to me that he tweets in fits and starts - admittedly there has been some promotion for Berlin Station and also for audiowork over the past month or two, but today there was a small deluge. I have a theory about this - I was tempted to respond over on the related posts but .... I have seen this kind of mercurial action in my own family. Maybe I'm creating a different tulpa for him - that of artistic and temperamental?
Thanks for stimulating my thought processes, Servitus!! I envy your eloquence - wish I could express myself as well.
This was actually not what I was going to write about however!! I am halfway through watching Episode 2 of Berlin Station Series 3. I quite enjoyed Episode 1 apart from the fight scenes. My big problem? I am going to need to watch this with head phones. Why? I am having trouble making out what Richard Armitage/Daniel is saying in some of his scenes. To say I'm surprised is an understatement. He is an outstanding narrator - he has crisp diction and clarity. Sorry, but not sorry - Daniel Miller mumbles!
I prefer the audiobooks to his current screenwork, and I suspect I'm the only person in the Armitage fandom that does. Note to self: Connect headphones to TV or make appointment to have ears syringed. Maybe that will make a difference?
