What are we hoping for?

Truthfully what are we hoping for over the next 12 months as RA fans?  The discussion a few posts ago with regard to Lucas’ relationship with Elizaveta made me wonder if members of the fandom are becoming just a tiny bit wistful. Perhaps it is just my own feelings at present but as I watch Darcy win Elizabeth for the umpteenth time in the 1995 P&P, Jane Eyre win Rochester or even Bridget Jones win her modern day Darcy, I can’t help but wonder if we are all deluding ourselves about the action drama genre RA is doing. I enjoy action but lately I’ve been enjoying my period dramas more. Some may think this is pathetic but in all honesty I am craving to see RA back in a period drama or even a modern comedy or drama where he plays the romantic lead. If anyone doubts his ability to play such a role they need look no further than John Thornton (and Guy of Gisborne perhaps); Harry Kennedy and even young Monet. I love Lucas and John Porter but I really really hope that the next work he does has more than a bit of romance … a Darcyish role for me would be ideal.

A contemporary romantic lead, perhaps?

Whatevr the role, I for one would like to see more romance and less of the action
