I was pondering the question about how well known Richard Armitage (the UK actor, not the US politician) is in Australia after ABC elected to buy Strike Back. I confess that I was surprised by ABC's decision as it is not the sort of genre I would have expected to see on ABC, but I am also very happy to know that it will air in Australia. As many of you know, I have converted a number of my work colleagues to Spooks by loaning them my DVDs starting at Series 1. There are a number of people now waiting impatiently to see Series 8 and to my surprise are filling in time by watching RA as Guy in Robin Hood Series 3 which is airing on ABC2 on Saturday nights. I think this is a good sign. ABC have also recently aired "Ordeal by Innocence" and I am now wondering if RA is becoming quite a familiar face to ABC viewers. No longer is he the "guy who married Geraldine" in Vicar of Dibley ... he is now the actor who starred in Spooks, Robin Hood and who married the Vicar of Dibley. Moreover ABC2 is about to air Cold Feet Series 5 and this will appear on ABC iView at some stage, hopefully. There are only a few of RA's works I am yet to see, and Cold Feet is one of them. (I can't abide Speedos, so I will have to steel myself to watch the pool scenes
).
