Photo Friday and I haven't been blogging much - blame it on work and having to limit leisure time on the laptop owing to a sore neck. Nat over at Richard Armitage Fan Blog inspired this next post of mine by writing about her distractions on her blog a few days ago. It made me think (yes, my mind works in strange ways ) ... what trivialities about acting would I like to ask Mr RA if I had the chance? Obviously there are serious cerebral questions about how he prepares for various roles and of course there are the future project questions, the stage play questions and the dreaded fan questions ... all those are very interesting, but what about some of the questions about props and behind the scenes things like:
1. Do you keep some of your costumes? Ever wondered if he has Guy's leather at home? (ie I heard Keith Allen was after it). MTA: Here's a bit of an answer from RA in this article published on 30/5/2010
" ... the truth is, nearly all my other clothes are Lucas’s from Spooks. I can’t bear shopping. I can choose clothes for my characters, but not for myself. I’ve got no dress sense. Or I’ve lost it." (Mirror.co.uk 30/05/2010)
2. When you film away from home, do they put you up in 5 star accommodation with room service, a serviced apartment where you can cook for yourself, or a caravan?
3. Do they fly you to a set location in first class, business class or economy?
4. Do you all socialise together when on set away from home or do you need your own space?
5. Do you enjoy driving all those smart cars Lucas is given in Spooks?
6. Do you have to actually eat the food they give you when you are acting a scene in a restaurant/dinner party? (This one's for you, Nat). Mr RA, did you really put that bit of burnt well cooked sausage in your mouth?
7. .... and finally, are you really drinking alcohol in all these glasses or is it just pretend? How many takes before you are over the limit?
John Thornton. White wine or water? Vodka?
Lucas. Champagne or lemonade??
John Standring. Beer or non alcoholic apple cider??
Guy. Ale, mead or water?
Naughty John Mulligan ... red wine or blackcurrant juice?
Monet. Sherry or unfermented grape juice? Cold tea?
Harry. Shiraz or red cordial?
PS: Does anyone have a link to the interview where RA talks about how he and Dawn French sneak off for a warming drink (of alcoholic variety) while shooting this scene? ..... To keep the cold away?
Any other trivial questions?
