Denman is a town located in the Upper Hunter Valley. Every year they host a wine and Food festival where local producers set up stalls and you can sample their produce to your heart's (and stomach's) content. Pictured here is a chef making a seafood paella - a bit out of context in Australia but nevertheless smelt fantastic! Pity I don't eat seafood as I'm sure it tasted just as wonderful as it smelt. More photos later. We lost typepad for a few days so I am now a bit behind in blogging.
Last night I dreamed of making tortilla española. It was one of those dreams that had colour and smell. Now of course I want to really make one. Does anyone have a good recipe for tortilla española? If so can you trackback or place a recipe in the comments section? I would be most grateful for any recipes.
Many Thanks
Jenny
PS You will note that I have corrected my error - tortilla is of course feminine and I failed to make español agree. Should be española. I suspect Pica, I was listening to my father, who was notorious for getting his grammar wrong. It is such a pity they have stopped my Spanish classes - I really am ready to get on with learning it.
I read a post on Doc's site about homemade "Huckleberry Pie" and haven't a clue what it is or looks like. So to those of you in the U.S, can you please, please tell me what a "huckleberry" is. (pictures/recipes anything). I'm sure Beth W or maybe even Bakerina have some answers for me.
OK Tvindy has challenged us to post the following:
1. The front of the closed door of your fridge... (showing magnets and other clutter).

Now you can see what busy lives we lead - school, church, magnets etc etc.
2. An item that has been in the fridge the longest - explain what it is. (I've used poetic license here as the original challenge was for three items - the old cucumber and broccoli were simply too horrible to photograph).

Photographed here is my container of decaffeinated coffee and spoon which has been in the fridge for so long that ice has formed on it. I've reverted to drinking full strength coffee.
3. An item that I am certain no one else has in their fridge.

Well.....meal worms and anti fungal fin treatment for Sarah's axolotyl, Pablo. The meal worms have to be kept cold so they semi-hibernate and don't escape.
We should do this more often - my fridge has been cleaned, re-organised and wiped out with that special vanilla fridge cleaner.
Tvindy and Snowball have challenged us to reveal the inside of our refrigerators....... shudder..... ours is untidier than his. It is Anna's birthday today so there are left overs from the BBQ for the rellies yesterday and cakes (one for today as well). The wine? A good Australian Chardonnay. This is now a thumbnail - you can really look at Aus foodstuffs if you wish.
